Frequently Asked Questions
Are you a brand-authorized service center?+
No, we provide independent service. As a family business trading watches since 1999, we work with master watchmakers we have known for years and use genuine or period-correct parts. If your watch is under manufacturer warranty, we recommend considering the authorized service first.
Do you service watches not bought from Bedesten?+
Yes. We service luxury watches of all brands regardless of where they were purchased.
How long does a service take?+
Simple maintenance and testing usually takes 1-2 weeks; a full overhaul or restoration takes 4-8 weeks depending on parts availability. We share a clear timeline at the preliminary assessment.
Does polishing reduce value?+
Excessive or repeated polishing softens the case's original lines and can reduce collector value. That is why we never polish without your request — and for vintage watches we usually advise against it entirely.
What happens to replaced parts?+
All replaced parts are returned to you. On vintage watches, original parts are part of the watch's history and worth keeping.
How much does a service cost?+
Honestly, we can't put a number on it from photos. The cost depends on the brand, the caliber and what the watch actually needs once it's open on the bench — a battery and a fresh seal is a different world from a full vintage chronograph overhaul. So we don't quote blind: the inspection is free, we tell you exactly what we find, and you get a firm price for your approval before a single screw is turned.
